CM to change car again, Kia Carnival worth Rs 33 lakh to replace Innova Crysta

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Home Department has ordered the purchase of a Kia Carnival car worth Rs 33.31 lakh for the Chief Minister. It is a car with more safety features including bulletproof. The vehicle is priced at Rs 33 lakh. The Home Department had initially planned to purchase a Tata Harrier for the CM. Later, the authorities decided to purchase Kia Carnival on the instructions of DGP Anil Kant.

The two Innova Crysta cars currently used for the CM's security will be used for escort duty in the northern districts including Kannur and Kozhikode. These will be kept under the charge of the State Special Branch. The home department had purchased a new Innova Crysta for the CM in December. The CM has been travelling in a full option Crystal Shine Black Crysta with KL01CT6683 registration.
