CPM flagpoles, boards destroyed in Thrissur

THRISSUR: Several flagpoles and boards of the CPM were destroyed in Thrissur. The assailants also hoisted a black flag over the party flag. The flagpoles and boards erected in front of Cherur Vimala College within the limits of the CPM Vilvattom local committee were destroyed.

The black flag was hoisted on top of the flag after demolishing a hut which was built as part of the SFI conference. The flagpole of the Kuttumukku Manavazhi branch was also been destroyed. The CPM alleged that the Congress activists were behind the violence. Very few people travel on the road in front of the Vimala College at night. It is also a dark area. Viyyur police reached the spot and started an investigation.

Police are also checking the CCTV cameras of Vimala College. More police have been deployed in the city following warnings of possible protests.
