THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Women's commission chairperson P Sathidevi said former jail DGP R Sreelekha's remarks speaking in favour of Dileep in the actress assault case, was not appropriate. She said her response after retirement is mysterious and the investigative agencies should probe this.

There is concern that such statements are intended to help whom. These remarks are improper from a person of high position. The people want justice for the survivor, she said.

Sreelekha made the controversial remarks through her own YouTube channel. She alleged that the conspiracy case arose because there was no evidence against Dileep in the case and that the police fabricated evidence against Dileep.

She had also revealed that it was not Pulsar Suni who wrote the letter sent to Dileep from jail. Witnesses turned hostile as the police investigation was not conducted properly. The police helped Suni to get a phone in jail.

There are no evidences for the meeting of Dileep and Suni. Sreelekha had alleged that it was the media that suspected Dileep from the beginning and that there was a lot of media pressure on the police. Meantime, the prosecution is planning to take legal proceedings against Sreelekha. The action will be based on the fact that the accused in the case being investigated is innocent.
