Karuvannur bank fraud victim's death during treatment; protest in front of bank with dead body

THRISSUR: Congress and BJP workers organized a protest in front of the Karuvannur Bank as a woman who was a victim of bank fraud died during treatment. They protested with the dead body of Philomina, a native of Karuvannur. Heavy police protection has been provided to the Co-operative Bank.

70-year-old Philomina died last night. She had Rs 30 lakh deposit in the bank. Philomina's relatives says that despite several requests asking money for the treatment, they did not pay even a single rupee. The family responded that they would have given better treatment if they had received the money back. Relatives said that when they asked for money, the bank employees misbehaved and replied that they would give it when they receive money.
