NEW DELHI: Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has tendered an apology to President Draupadi Murmu over his controversial 'Rashtrapatni' remark.
“I assure you that it was a slip of the tongue. I apologise and request you to accept the same,” Chowdhury wrote to the President.
Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury made the controversial remark during the Parliament march organized against the questioning of Congress president Sonia Gandhi by ED. He referred to Draupadi Murmu as 'Rashtrapatni' while speaking to a Hindi channel.
Following this, BJP MPs demanded an apology from Congress on Chowdhury’s controversial remarks against President Draupadi Murmu.
