gas

KOCHI: The price of cooking gas has been reduced bringing relief to hotels and industrial purposes using LPG. The price has been slashed by Rs 36.

With this, the new price of a commercial cylinder in Kochi will be Rs 1991. Meantime, there is no change in the price of domestic cylinders.

Protests are being staged across the country against the fuel price hike. The opposition had raised a ruckus in the Lok Sabha several times, against the price hike in the country. However, Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Singh Puri pointed out that India is one of the countries where cooking gas is cheaper in the world.

The protests against the price hike started early last month when the LPG price was increased by Rs 50 per cylinder. The minister had said that LPG prices in India are the lowest among the countries of the world. He also released the LPG prices in different countries.
