KSRTC hikes fare during Onam time; 20% rise for AC services

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KSRTC hiked the fares during Onam time. The move is to introduce flexi rate for inter-state travel. There will be a fare hike in August and September. There will be a 20 % increase for AC services. Express and deluxe services have been increased by 15 %.


With the advent of SWIFT, Malayalees are most dependent on KSRTC for inter-state travel. Many people return home from different states during Onam. Keeping this situation in mind, KSRTC will be charging the highest amount during Onam. KSRTC aims to make a profit by charging the highest fare on the busiest day.
