Murder in flat, Arshad is accused in theft case, will be brought to Kochi tomorrow

KOCHI: Arshad, the accused in the case of murdering a youth and hiding it in a flat, will be brought to Kochi tomorrow. The police arrested him from Manjeswaram yesterday. The police informed that Arshad needs to be interrogated in detail.

The investigation team said they will examine whether more people are involved in the murder. The accused had stated that the reason for committing the crime was a dispute on financial dealings in drugs. MDMA, one kg of ganja, hashish oil, heroin etc were seized from Arshad at the time when he was arrested. His friend Ashwant was also with him.

Arshad and Ashwant will be produced in the Kasaragod court today in the case of possessing drugs. Then with the permission of the court, he will be brought to Ernakulam for further investigation in the murder case. A police team from Kochi have reached Kasargod.

Only Sajeev and Arshad were in flat
Arshad, whom police suspect to have committed the murder, was not a permanent resident of the flat. Arshad was friend of Adish who stayed on the 20th floor of the apartment. Amjad, who was staying with the slain Sajeev, is also Arshad's friend. Arshad met Sajeev and others through Amjad. Arshad was staying in Sajeev's room for the past two weeks. Only Sajeev and Arshad were in the flat at the time of the murder.

Three others who were on a tour spoke to Sajeev on phone till Sunday night. Later Sajeev did not pick up the phone. Instead, messages were sent from his phone till Tuesday afternoon. After the murder came to light, the phone was switched off. The police also found that there is a theft case against Arshad in Kondotty.
