THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heavy rains are likely to lash the state on Tuesday. Red alert has been declared in four districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki. A holiday has been declared for the educational institutions in Thiruvananthapuram.

Orange alert has been issued in the districts of Alappuzha, Kottayam and Ernakulam.
