Heavy rain likely in state in next hours, yellow alert in three districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has said that there is a possibility of widespread rain in the state in the next few hours. The low pressure in Bay of Bengal is currently located in central-west Bay of Bengal off Andhra Odisha coast. There is also a warning that there is a possibility of the low pressure gaining strength in the next few hours. The monsoon trough is located southwards away from its normal position.

The Meteorological Department warns that there is a possibility of widespread rainfall in Kerala and heavy rain at isolated places. Yellow alert has been announced in Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod districts today and tomorrow. Strong winds and inclement weather are possible and fishermen are advised to exercise caution.
