KASARAGOD: A video of a parent carrying a gun to protect madrasa students from stray dogs has gone viral. The man in the video is identified as Sameer hailing from Haddad Nagar in Kasaragod's Bekal. In the video, Sameer is seen walking in front of around 13 students. In the footage, the man is also seen saying that if any dog attacks, he will shoot it dead. The video was shared on social media by Sameer's son. After the footage went viral, Sameer says that he was holding an air gun and did not shoot any dog.
At the same time, the DGP has directed that the public shouldn't take law into their hands to kill stray dogs en masse. The DGP also issued a circular to create awareness against abandoning pet dogs on the road.
