Vadakkanchery accident: Statements of KSRTC staff, passengers to be recorded today, MVD to continue statewide inspections

THRISSUR: The police have intensified the investigation into the collision of a tourist bus with a KSRTC bus in Vadakkanchery. Statements of passengers and KSRTC employees will be recorded today. The police will probe driver Jojo Pathrose's statement that the accident happened because the KSRTC bus stopped suddenly.

The police will also question those who helped Jojo escape from Vadakanchery. The bus owner Arun was arrested by the police n Friday. The accused were produced before the magistrate and remanded for two weeks.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the Vadakanchery accident, the Motor Vehicle Department will continue to inspect vehicles for violations. The state-wide inspection is being conducted as per the instructions of the Transport Commissioner. Last day, 134 vehicles were seized for violating the law.
