Giant-sized Messi’s cutout at Cherupuzha river goes viral on social media

KOZHIKODE: Diehard fans of Lionel Messi from Chathamangalam in Kozhikode have gone viral after they erected a huge cutout of legendary footballer, Lionel Messi, in the middle of Cherupuzha river. It was erected by Pullavoor Argentinian fans and placed near the NIT.

The 30 feet high and 8 feet wide cutout of Messi is erected on a small elevated land in the middle of the Cherupuzha river. The cutout of Messi wearing a blue jersey and standing proudly has gone viral in Qatar, Argentina, Europe, America, etc.

Argentinian fans across the world are posting pictures of the cutout of Kozhikode on their social media platforms. Even prominent online media like Fox Sports Argentina have reported the huge cutout of Messi in Kozhikode. The Pullavoor Argentinian Fans are hoping that their cutout will be seen by their hero Lionel Messi himself.

The cutout was made at a cost of Rs.20,000. The decision was taken six months back when the fans of Argentina were sitting on the bridge across the river. One of the fanboys got the idea to erect a huge cutout in the middle of the river. Others gave it support and began to collect the money needed for the cutout. It was made at Pullavoor itself.

The cutout was brought to the river from 3 km away in drenching rain and shouts of slogans. The video of this is also viral on social media. However, Brazil fans find it hard to ignore the challenge posed by this huge Messi cutout. They are now planning to erect a huge cutout of their hero, Neymar, and make the score tally.
