THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The discussion on the Vizhinjam seaport issue has started in the Legislative Assembly. Presenting the motion, M. Vincent alleged that the government's failure had brought the Vizhinjam strike to this stage. He asked on what evidence the protesters were called traitors and accused of terrorist links.
There will be a two-hour discussion on the issue. In the morning, the opposition in the House accused the government of not taking steps to settle the Vizhinjam strike. The Chief Minister clarified that the issue can be discussed. For the first time during this session, the government has decided to halt the Assembly proceedings.
In recent days, there has been little progress in the consensus talks held with the government and strike committee.
