126 loads of granite reach Vizhinjam for seaport construction in one day, works progressing at fast pace

VIZHINJAM: On Friday, 126 loads of granite arrived at the Vizhinjam port construction site with works progressing at a fast pace. Granite brought earlier to Mudalapozhi and rock from Kadavila quarry are transported by sea in barges and by land in lorries. Rock from Tamil Nadu and other quarries in the state will reach Vizhinjam by next week. Along with dumping granite boulders in the sea, granites is also collected on land. More than 500 workers are working simultaneously. Apart from the construction of the breakwater, the work on the berth is also progressing rapidly. Acropods are also arranged in the breakwater area for protection.
