Kochuveli railway station renovation: Restrictions on trains, except four, lifted

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The restrictions imposed since the beginning of construction work at Kochuveli yard, including the cancellation of some trains, have been partially lifted. Railways informed that except for Nagercoil-Ernad Express, Kochuveli-Nilambur Rajya Rani, Kochuveli-Lokmanyathilak Garib Rath and Guruvayoor Intercity, services will be operated from today.

21 trains were completely canceled and 34 trains were partially cancelled. Four trains were diverted. Meanwhile, two new platform tracks have started working at Kochuveli station. Modern electronic interlocking system has been commissioned. Officials also said that a new train stabling line has been set up at the yard. Replacement of old girder of Bridge No. 299 near Meenachal River, Kottayam has been completed. Bridge renovation in Downline (Thrissur - Ernakulam) section between Chalakudy and Karukutty was completed yesterday.
