Treating skin problems become affordable as government starts aesthetic dermatology suite

THRISSUR: Minister of Health Veena George said that Aesthetic Dermatology Suite has been started in the Department of Skin Diseases at Thrissur Government Medical College. A comprehensive aesthetic dermatology suite is set up to coordinate the state-of-the-art treatment systems in the dermatology department. The Minister also stated that through this initiative, it will be possible to make the modern skin disease treatment affordable.

A dermatology aesthetic suite has been prepared on 925.36 square feet on the second floor of casualty block of Thrissur Medical College Hospital. An aesthetic dermatology suite was set up at a cost of Rs 25 lakh. Reception room, examination room, three treatment rooms, dressing room for health workers and patients and toilet facilities are all provided here. The treatment rooms are equipped with modern lighting systems and storage systems.

Modern treatment methods such as laser, chemical peeling, microdermabrasion etc. have been prepared to provide solutions for various skins issues such as discolorations, scars, other scars, moles, etc. that occur in different parts of the body. Although such treatments are available in many government medical colleges, this is the first time in the state that a comprehensive aesthetic dermatology suite has been coordinated and prepared.
