Mercykuttan wishes luck to kalarippayattu team heading to Gwalior

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sports council president Mercykuttan congratulated and wished luck to all participants representing Kerala at the Khelo India Youth Games at Gwalior. The students are participating in Kalaripayattu, the traditional martial arts form to represent Kerala on the big stage. Mercykuttan wished luck to the team by providing swords and daggers, uniquely used in the martial arts form.

In the last year’s Khelo India youth games, the Kerala team participating in kalarippayattu grabbed a total of five medals giving out a remarkable performance. A total of 63 students and 20 coaches will board their train to Gwalior. The kalarippayattu matches will be held on February 8,9 and 10 respectively.
