THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department has warned that Kerala is likely to receive isolated rain in the coming hours. A yellow alert has been issued in four districts. The yellow alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta and Idukki districts. The IMD warned that the rain may continue in the next few days.

A depression formed in the Southwest Bay of Bengal is currently located over South Sri Lanka. By tomorrow morning, the extremely low-pressure area travelling in a southwesterly direction is expected to reach the Strait of Mannar. Kerala is therefore anticipated to get isolated rain today, according to IMD.

Southwest Bay of Bengal, Sri Lanka coast, Gulf of Mannar, Kanyakumari coast, South Tamil Nadu coast and Karaikal coast are likely to be affected by winds reaching speeds of 40-50 kmph gusting to 50 kmph, IMD said.
