'Tiranga' flies high at flick of switch, electrical flagpoles installed at railway stations across state

KASARAGOD: The national flag was hoisted on a huge electrical flagpole built at a cost of Rs 13 lakh at the Kasaragod railway station. Officials informed that the trial run, which took place at 11 am on Saturday, was successful.

Under Palakkad Railway Division, electrical flagpoles have been installed at Palakkad, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, Kasaragod and Mangalore. Bajaj Electricals has undertaken the contract for erecting the flagpole. Engineer TR Regil said that one year of maintenance will be borne by Bajaj Electricals. Before this, 100 feet high electrical flagpoles have been installed at Kozhikode and Kannur airports in Kerala. Two LED lights of 400 watt are also installed to make the national flag clearly visible at night.

Officials said that an official ceremony will be held later after informing the Palakkad Railway Division.


RPF Inspector Krithilesh, Kasaragod Railway Station Master Prashanth, Railway Senior Section Engineer Mohsin and Bajaj Electricals Engineer Regil also took salute for the trial run.
