CHENNAI: The excitement of the IPL is set to rise further as Chennai Super Kings legend MS Dhoni is preparing to return to the field. The update on Dhoni's comeback was shared by CSK batting coach Mike Hussey. He said Dhoni is likely to rejoin the team soon and is batting well in the nets. The veteran has been resting for some time due to a leg injury. His return is expected to end the long wait for fans.

“Dhoni still has a lot to contribute to cricket. We expect him to return fully fit after recovering from the injury. He is working hard in training, especially on aspects like running between the wickets,” Hussey said.

A key talking point now is the role Dhoni will take on after his return. Due to his recent injury, there are reports that he could be used as an Impact Player, focusing mainly on batting to reduce the strain of fielding. However, Hussey also hinted that fans may once again see ‘Thala’ behind the stumps. Dhoni’s presence as a wicketkeeper adds significant confidence to the team.

The Chennai Super Kings management has decided to give Dhoni complete freedom in choosing his role. The team is ready to offer him any position he prefers. Fans had expected him to play in the previous match against Mumbai Indians, but his absence was disappointing. However, the cricketing world now looks forward to seeing Dhoni back in the yellow jersey in the upcoming matches.
