
KOLKATA: Kolkata Knight Riders are still searching for their first win of the season after a dramatic loss to Lucknow Super Giants. The match went down to the final ball, where Lucknow successfully chased 182, finishing the innings with three wickets remaining. Youngster Mukul Chaudhary delivered a brilliant unbeaten half-century, guiding his team to victory and shifting the momentum in Lucknow’s favour. With this result, Lucknow move to four points from three matches.
During the chase, Ayush Badoni scored 54 off 34 balls, while Mukul Chaudhary remained not out on 54 off just 27 balls. From a difficult position of 128 for 7, Mukul added 54 runs in just 24 balls with Avesh Khan. Interestingly, Avesh contributed only one run and faced just three balls. Mukul hit seven sixes in his innings. Other Lucknow batters had modest contributions. Mitchell Marsh scored 15, Aiden Markram made 22, captain Rishabh Pant scored 10, Nicholas Pooran added 13, Abdul Samad scored 2, and Mohammed Shami managed 1.
For Kolkata, Vaibhav Arora and Anukul Roy picked up two wickets each. Sunil Narine, Kartik Tyagi, and Cameron Green took one wicket each.
Kolkata have now lost three out of their four matches. Their only point came from a rain-abandoned game.
Earlier, batting first, Kolkata scored 181 for 4 in 20 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi was the top scorer with 45 runs off 33 balls. Captain Ajinkya Rahane, Cameron Green, and Rovman Powell also contributed well.
Rahane scored 41 off 24 balls, while opener Finn Allen managed only 9. Raghuvanshi hit five boundaries and two sixes in his innings. Rinku Singh had a disappointing outing with just 4 runs. Green (32 not out) and Powell (39 not out) finished strongly.
For Lucknow, Prince Yadav, Manimaran Siddharth, Digvesh Singh Rathi, and Avesh Khan took one wicket each.
