LUCKNOW: Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant appeared visibly frustrated with team mentor Zaheer Khan during their recent IPL match against Delhi Capitals. The tense exchange unfolded as Pant was gearing up to bat, and a video capturing his displeasure has quickly circulated across social media platforms.
Pant was seen speaking angrily to Zaheer both before and after heading to the crease. Former Indian cricketer Suresh Raina stated that Pant was displeased about not being sent in to bat at his usual position of number four. Instead of Pant, Abdul Samad was sent in at number four. However, Samad could only score 2 runs off 8 balls before getting out. Pant eventually walked in at number seven, with only two deliveries remaining in the innings. He was bowled out for a duck by Mukesh Kumar. Following this, Pant continued his argument with Zaheer Khan upon returning to the dugout.
This was the second meeting between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants in the ongoing season, and once again, Delhi emerged victorious. Chasing a target of 160, Delhi sealed the win with two overs to spare and just two wickets lost. Key contributions came from Abishek Porel (51), KL Rahul (57*), and Axar Patel (34*), who effectively neutralised the Lucknow bowling attack.
