CHENNAI: A decision has likely been made on Malayali cricket sensation Sanju Samson’s departure from IPL team Rajasthan Royals. It is reported that Sanju will soon wear the yellow jersey of the most successful IPL club, Chennai Super Kings. This is touted to be one of the biggest player transfers in the history of IPL. To fill the void, Rajasthan will bring two players from Chennai in exchange.

Ravindra Jadeja, who was part of the Rajasthan team that won the title in the inaugural season, will make a farewell return to Jaipur. In addition, it is reported that English all-rounder Sam Curran will also be part of the Rajasthan team for next year’s tournament. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the player transfer yet.

For the trade to be completed, there are technical hurdles to be cleared. Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings will have to send an expression of interest to the IPL Governing Council, including the names of all three players involved in the trade. As per the trading rules, once the written consent of the players is obtained, the franchises can hold further talks to finalise the deal. That too has to be approved by the Governing Council.

Earlier reports regarding the player swap had suggested that the Royals wanted South African youngster Dewald Brevis, but the Super Kings were not willing to accept this. With this, a deal was likely agreed for Sam Curran. It is reported that an official confirmation regarding the trade will be made soon.
