WASHINGTON: US Vice President J.D. Vance drew flak and ridicule for his 'Good Friday' message shared on the social media platform X.
"Today, my official duties have brought me to the beautiful city of Rome on Good Friday. I had a meeting with Prime Minister Meloni and will soon head to church with my family in this beautiful city." wrote US VP Vance on X.
I’m grateful every day for this job, but particularly today where my official duties have brought me to Rome on Good Friday. I had a great meeting with Prime Minister Meloni and her team, and will head to church soon with my family in this beautiful city.

I wish all Christians…
Following this, many people came forward to criticise and mock JD Vance for taking his Hindu wife to church on holy Good Friday. Many termed the act as an apostasy.
Usha Vance, wife of the US Vice President, had earlier responded to the act of normalising Indian hate and called it terrible. She is not new to trolls over her South Asian identity. With the Good Friday post on X, the Hinduphobic slurs on Usha are back, gaining a foothold in the social media space.
