Actress Arya Babu said that she feels her opportunities in films have decreased, partly due to the lack of comedy roles in contemporary movies. In an interview with Kaumudy Movies, she also shared that her chances in the film industry diminished after participating in the reality show Bigg Boss.
"When I am emotionally drained, I tend to cry as my way of coping. I don’t find any other way to handle it. I really enjoy being a good friend to others, and my father was the same. It means a lot when someone remembers us positively as a friend. I listen to everything others say, but I don't take advice from anyone. Opportunities in films are getting fewer. More people started recognizing me after I was part of Badai Bungalow. However, after Bigg Boss, I haven’t received many offers.
There are very few actresses who get to play comedic roles these days. Unfortunately, such roles are rare in current films. We no longer see characters like those portrayed by Sukumari Amma and Kalpana Chechi. All films nowadays are more realistic. As an actress, I am not receiving opportunities. I haven’t worked much in Ramesh Pisharody's films. I did a small role in Ganagandharvan. He’s a close friend of mine, and we speak occasionally on the phone. That's why he hasn’t cast me in his films. He has given me a valid reason for that. When the right role for me comes, he will offer it. I haven’t asked him for anything," Arya said.
