Illegal gambling to be curbed soon: Bill to regulate online games likely to be introduced in Lok Sabha

NEW DELHI: The Union Cabinet has approved the bill to bring online gaming platforms under the law and regulate illegal gambling through digital apps. The bill is likely to be introduced in the Lok Sabha today.

Central government sources have indicated that the bill is a solution to the addiction and fraud created by online games. The bill also aims to end illegal online betting. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology will be designated as the central agency to regulate online games. The bill has provisions to overcome the current limitations at the state level to regulate online gambling.
