NEW DELHI: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) will collect the voice samples of Tahawwur Rana, the mastermind behind the Mumbai terror attack, and examine his call records. This is to check whether Rana gave instructions for the terror attack over the phone. Rana's consent is required to collect the voice samples. If Rana refuses, the NIA can approach the court. Once permission is obtained, experts from the Central Forensic Science Laboratory will reach the NIA headquarters and collect the samples.

Meantime, crucial information has been disclosed while interrogating Rana. The NIA has revealed that the Mumbai terror attack was planned in Dubai. Rana had his first meeting with the ISI representative in Dubai. The meeting was on the instructions of David Coleman Headley, another mastermind of the attack. The NIA also clarified that the ISI representative is a friend of Rana and Headley. The NIA is trying to find this representative. NIA sources said Rana is not cooperating with the interrogation.

Meanwhile, it is reported that Rana will be brought to Kochi for collecting evidence. It was found that Rana had visited Kochi before the Mumbai terror attacks. It is also reported that the NIA has taken into custody a person who helped him in Kochi. The move is to make them sit together and grill. The officers of the NIA Kochi unit are part of the NIA's special team investigating the Mumbai terror attacks.
