THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Director Baiju Kottarakkara alleged in a channel discussion that Dileep and Kavya went to the house of a leader in Malappuram's Vengara and handed over Rs 50 lakh to settle the actress assault case.
"On September 21, 2017, Dileep's nephew Anoop and his friend Suraj reached Malappuram's Vengara. They went to meet the youth leader of a prominent party in the state. They had the opportunity to meet the leader through the intervention of a person from Thiruvananthapuram who used to justify Dileep. They went to secure a deal worth Rs 5 crore. They assured him that they would be able to handle everything. Later, after Dileep was released from jail, Dileep and Kavya went to Vengara in a car driven by their cousin and paid Rs 50 lakh to the leader. Dileep has photos of this meeting. Dileep assured the leader that the rest of the money would be sent to Delhi. The balance of Dileep's remuneration in Dileep's movie My Santa, Rs 3.5 crore, was taken to Delhi", Baiju alleged.
According to Baiju Kottarakkara, the son of a prominent political leader asked Dileep to pay Rs 10 crore to get bail in the case. This was conveyed to a director, who is Dileep's friend as well. When Dileep was released from jail, he lost the opportunity to state that he was trapped by the government when he mentioned the phone call and Dileep demanded that the phone call record be retrieved. The phone was then handed over to a person named Saleesh from an IT company in Ernakulam for inspection. But the call record was not received. Baiju also alleged that the young man was killed by an unidentified vehicle in a road accident in Aluva a few days later.
