ALAPPUZHA: C M Sebastian, suspected to be a serial killer and accused in the missing case of Jain Mathew alias Jainamma, is surprising the police. In the investigation conducted by the crime branch at Sebastian's wife's house last night, a knife, a hammer, diesel-smelling cans and a purse were recovered. These were found in Sebastian's car parked at the house. The investigation team indicates that the evidence obtained now could turn crucial in the case. It is almost clear that diesel was bought in the can of 20 litres. Why did he buy it, should be probed now.
A burnt watch strap and slippers were found from Sebastian's house in Cherthala the other day. Whom these belonged to should also be found. The police are hoping that the details of the case will become clearer once answers are found to these. It was earlier reported that Sebastian is not cooperating much with the interrogation. The crime branch has informed the court that many of Sebastian's statements are not trustworthy and that more clarification is needed on some things. Sebastian has been completely uncooperative with the investigation since his arrest. He has been questioned in various ways, including by high-ranking officials, but has not budged.
Meantime, it has been clarified that the remains recovered from Sebastian's compound in Cherthala are of a woman. However, it is not clear whether it is that of Jainamma. It will be clarified only after the DNA test results and other chemical test results are obtained. It is believed that he has killed more people.
