Police register case after employees sprinkle itching powder in doctor’s consulting room

KASARGOD: The police have registered a case against employees for sprinkling itching powder (cowhage powder) in the doctor's consulting room. The employees sprinkled the powder after the doctor scolded them over work related issues. A case was registered against employees Jayakrishnan and hospital lab technician Anjali on the complaint of Dr T K Sharmina of ECHS Polyclinic Hospital in Mavungal.


The incident happened Wednesday morning. The powder was sprinkled on the doctor's room and the equipment there. The doctor, who developed uneasiness, , filed a complaint with the Hosdurg police. The accused were identified by examining the CCTV footage. A case has been registered under the charge of assault on healthcare workers. Police said the itching powder was sprinkled in retaliation for the two being scolded for work related issues.
