26-year-old woman dies while burning baby’s diaper

KOTTAYAM: A woman, who was under treatment for injuries she sustained while burning her baby’s diaper, has died. She has been identified as Jomol Sebastian (26) of Kottayam Lakkattoor Anakallungal. She is daughter of Salu of Lakkattoor Platharamuri and Mini and wife of Ebison.

The incident happened on April 21 at 11.30 am. The incident happened when she was trying to light a paper from the gas stove to burn the diaper of her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The fire spread to the nightie Jomol was wearing. Jomol, who suffered serious burns, was later admitted to the medical college hospital. She died yesterday while undergoing treatment in the emergency department. Her funeral will be held this evening.
