PATHANAMTHITTA: A car lost control and crashed into a shop and nearby walls in Kozhencherry. The car involved in the accident was driven by an 86-year-old man returning after buying items from a bakery. Fortunately, a major tragedy was averted as there were no people on the road or in the nearby school premises at the time.

The incident took place around 11.30 am on the 27th near Pazhayatheruvu in Kozhencherry. Visuals of the accident have now come out. The driver reportedly lost control of the car while taking it out after purchasing items from the bakery. The vehicle first broke the glass door of the bakery and then moved backwards at high speed towards a nearby school wall. After that, the car went out of control again and finally stopped after hitting another wall.

Locals said it was fortunate that there were no other vehicles or schoolchildren on the road when the accident happened. They also alleged that the driver had caused similar accidents earlier. Locals demanded strict control over elderly people with age-related illnesses or physical difficulties driving vehicles, stating that it poses a serious risk to the lives of others.
