KOCHI: The police Thursday grilled actor Unni Mukundan in the case of assaulting Vipin Kumar, who claims to be his former manager. The Infopark police questioned him at his flat in Kochi. The actor testified that he did not assault him and that throwing the mirror from his face was an emotional expression. The police will soon file a charge sheet in the case.

However, the film organizations had intervened in the incident earlier and had reached a settlement. In the meantime, legal proceedings were continuing. Vipin Kumar had complained to the Infopark police on May 26, alleging that Unni Mukundan assaulted him. His complaint said that the reason for the provocation was a social media post in which he praised the film 'Narivetta' after Unni Mukundan's film 'Get Set Baby' flopped. The complaint also said the reason for the assault was an argument related to this.

Meantime, Unni Mukundan responded to the fake news circulating on social media. The actor clarified that he doesn’t have a personal manager earlier and still does not have one. The actor also said that he handles all official communications and professional matters directly or through his own production company UMF. He requested individuals and platforms to refrain from spreading misconceptions about him. Unni Mukundan also wrote on Facebook that strict action will be taken against them if they continue to spread such false claims.
