Eight-year old sexual assault victim drowns in pond; police begins investigation

IDUKKI: An eight-year-old girl who was sexually assaulted drowned in a pond at Vandanmedu. The girl drowned in the pond in the garden where his parents worked. Police said there was nothing unusual in the incident.

Last week, police received a complaint that their two children had been abused while their parents went to work. Vijayan, a native of Kumily, was arrested in connection with the incident. After the incident, the parents went to work along with their children.

Police said that she accidentally slipped and fell into a pool while playing with children of her age in the garden. Forensic officers arrived at the scene and conducted an inspection.
