THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Heightening the anticipation of political fronts, the exit poll results of various media outlets will start coming out from 6:30 pm today.
LDF is confident of returning to power for a third time, but some concerns do exist. The front is still not sure how the anti-government sentiment will be reflected in the vote. There is widespread propaganda that some ministers will lose their constituencies. However, the LDF's confidence is based on the report that there is no disdain among the people for the current MLAs, except for a few ministers.
In the early stages of the election campaign, there was a feeling of a UDF wave in 2026. After much deliberation, UDF have given up their earlier aim of crossing 100 and now believes that they will somehow hit the tally of 90 seats. The final estimate for the UDF is that they will secure anywhere not less than 85 seats. UDF is expecting surprising performances in the southern districts. Although there is no need for much concern for the NDA, it is important that their organisational strength will get assessed. The BJP entered the elections almost certain to recapture Nemom. The front expects up to five seats in this election. Amidst this, there are also differences within the camp over candidate selection in some constituencies.
