HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has written a letter to Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, urging him to stand together against the Centre’s move to increase the number of legislative assembly seats in states in connection with the Women’s Reservation Bill. In the letter, Revanth Reddy stated that the Centre’s proposal goes against the interests of southern states. He called for a united stand to oppose the move.
He further said that there has been a long-standing imbalance between northern and southern states, and the new proposal could deepen this divide. According to him, southern states should come together and strongly resist the move. Revanth Reddy also urged for a collective response and protest from southern states against the Centre’s decision.
The development follows a recent war of words between the two leaders during the election campaign in Kerala. During his visit, Revanth Reddy made remarks such as, “Bye bye Vijayan, your time is over” and “Nee po mone Vijayan.” Responding to this, Pinarayi Vijayan said, “Dash mone Revantha, a reply is coming.” The exchange drew further attention when Revanth Reddy later addressed Pinarayi Vijayan using the phrase “Po mone Vijayan” in an official communication on the Telangana government’s letterhead.
