
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As part of Operation D-Hunt, a statewide special drive was conducted to crack down on drug-related activities. 1,195 people suspected of involvement in drug trafficking were inspected during the drive.
Police registered 25 cases for possession of various banned narcotic substances, and 32 people were arrested. In these cases, police seized drugs including MDMA (0.0078212 kg), cannabis (0.42696 kg), and 12 cannabis beedis from the accused.
The operation was carried out across the state on April 14, 2026, with the aim of identifying those involved in the storage and sale of illegal drugs and taking strict legal action against them.
To strengthen action against narcotics, a 24-hour Anti-Narcotic Control Room (9497927797) is functioning to receive information from the public. Authorities assured that the identity of those who provide information will be kept confidential.
As part of intensified anti-drug efforts, an Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cell and an NDPS Coordination Cell are functioning at the state level under the direct supervision of the ADGP (Law and Order). Similar Anti-Narcotics Intelligence Cells are also operating at the range level.
