'Vincy filed complaint due to ego'; Shine Tom Chacko responds to actress' complaint

KOCHI: Actor Shine Tom Chacko has responded to actress Vincy Aloshious's complaint during police questioning in connection with a drug-related case in which he was arrested. Shine stated that Vincy's complaint was baseless and stemmed from ego. He also mentioned that Vincy is a family friend.

“Vincy's allegation that I behaved inappropriately is false. Neither the director nor the producer of the film 'Soothravakyam', where this incident allegedly occurred, has confirmed such behaviour. You can call and ask them if needed. I did not use any drugs on the film set,” said Shine.

Meanwhile, Shine Tom Chacko’s hair and nails were collected for forensic testing in connection with the drug case. After medical examination, he was released on station bail. The FIR states that Shine has used narcotic substances multiple times. The police conducted a hotel raid based on accurate information suggesting that drugs were being used there under the actor’s leadership.

According to the police, the actor fled the scene with the intent to destroy evidence. Even though Shine was repeatedly questioned about this during interrogation, he failed to give a clear answer. He claimed that he didn’t know it was the police who had arrived at the hotel and realised only the next morning that it was a team from the excise department.

He told the police he had no intention of deceiving them and that he ran away out of fear, thinking someone had come to attack him. Shine also stated that he does not use drugs and has no connection with drug dealers.
