‘Save the Date’ photoshoot in uniform; woman SI courts controversy

KOZHIKODE: ‘Save the Date’ photoshoot of a woman sub inspector has courted a controversy. A woman principal sub inspector of the police station coming under the Kozhikode city is involved in the controversy. She posed for the photoshoot in her uniform and this has sparked a controversy.

The DGP had in 2015 ordered police officers not to post pictures in uniform on their social media accounts. When T P Senkumar was the DGP, he released an order on the guidelines to be followed by the police officers while using the social media.

The sub inspector’s Save the Date had by now sparked a controversy on social media. Those in the police force criticize saying this is like defaming the uniform and a violation of the DGP's order. Action is likely to be taken against the sub inspector.
