Punishment goes extra mile as mother burns her child and later rubs chilly powder in Idukki

KUMILY: For burning tires from a neighboring home, a 7-year-old in Idukki endured a punishment of third degree from his own mother. The mother in rage burned the child's hand with a spatula. with no ending to her rage and irate over her boy's silly doings, she smeared chilly powder on his eyes, who was crying with immense pain from the burns. The incident happened on Sunday at noon. The child has been admitted to a nearby hospital and is reported of having serious burns down his torso. The ward member and localities helped the child reach the nearby hospital. After taking statements from the child, the mother will be taken into custody at the earliest, said the police officials.
