NEW DELHI: Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has come out against the Chief Minister in the Life Mission scam case. Chennithala alleged that Sivashankar's arrest reveals the Chief Minister's involvement in the case. He said that the reason for the delay in the investigation was the alliance between the BJP and the CPM.

“The truth has come out with the arrest of Sivashankar. The Chairman of Life Mission is the Chief Minister. Sivashankar's arrest points finger at the Chief Minister. So, the CM needs to respond to the issue. When we raised this case, it was said that we are trying to destroy Life Mission. Sivashankar's arrest is the best example which proves that facts will come out if central agencies investigate honestly.”, he said. Chennithala also alleged that the investigation in the gold smuggling case and the Life Mission is dragging on because of the alliance between the CPM and the BJP. “There is no doubt that more accused will come out if that alliance is dropped and an honest investigation is conducted.”, said Chennithala.

M Sivashankar, the former Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister was arrested last night in the Life Mission case. Sivashankar was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate after three days of questioning. The ED had also informed that evidence was obtained against Sivashankar in the bribery transaction. Sivashankar was produced in court today.
