Police arrest three persons accused of snatching mobile phones by roaming on bikes

ALAPPUZHA: The police arrested three youths accused of snatching mobile phones by roaming on bikes. The arrested are identified as Bilad (20) of Kutteth Thekkathil House in Eruv Muri in Pathiyoor, Shihas (20) of Eriyapurath House in Keerikadu Thekkumuri and Ajimshah (20) of Valiyath Kizhakkathil House in Eruv Muri in Pathiyoor.

All three were arrested in connection with a case pertaining to snatching a man's mobile phone on Choonad road in Ochira last evening. The incident took place in front of the dance school. Adithyan, the complainant, was riding his bicycle, and the accused came on a bike, stopped him and forcibly took his phone worth Rs 28,000. The accused were arrested during the investigation conducted by the Kayamkulam police.

The police said that the accused had snatched many such mobile phones within the limits of Kayamkulam police station. The accused were arrested by a team comprising CI Muhammad Shafi, SI Udayakumar V, police officers Deepak G, Shahjahan, Sabeesh, Firoz AS, Muhammad Shan, Deepak Vasudevan and Sundaresh Kumar under the supervision of Kayamkulam DySP Ajay Nath. The accused were produced in the court and remanded.
