THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Legislative assembly broke up within 10 minutes of the question session yesterday too. Leader of Opposition VD Satheesan stood up as soon as the question and answer session started, alleging that false cases were filed against the opposition MLAs. When the speaker turned off the microphone before Satheesan could complete his speech, the angry opposition members took to the center stage and raised placards and yelled slogans. Meanwhile, the Speaker invited Minister K Krishnankutty to answer the first question. The minister answered the questions of KM Sachindev, A Prabhakaran, and A Raja amid an opposition ruckus. As the protests intensified, the Speaker announced that the rest of the question session was canceled and other proceedings were quickly completed and the House was adjourned for yesterday.

VD Satheesan said that a case has been registered against the seven MLAs, who were complainants in the previous day's violence, under the non-bailable section. When the leader of the opposition asked if Minister V Sivankutty knew why the case was filed in the past, the speaker turned off the mic saying 'point cleared'. Minister V Sivankutty got up to reply to the Leader of the Opposition and called out that the present case is for physically harassing the women watch and ward. "Five women were badly beaten up by opposition MLAs. This is unprecedented in history," said the minister. The opposition raised slogans such as "Let the speaker be fair and withdraw the criminal case".

The speaker said that the attitude of the opposition, who did not cooperate despite repeated requests, was disappointing. Answers to calls for attention and allusions were placed on the table of the House by the Ministers concerned. The House adjourned at 9.10 a.m., adjourning the agenda for Non-Official Members' business.
