WASHINGTON: US President Joe Biden is reportedly planning to invite Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dinner. This was reported by Bloomberg. The dinner is said to be a part of strengthening India-US relations. A state dinner is being prepared for Modi at the White House in June. But no official confirmation has been received.
Modi and Biden will also meet at the Quad Summit held in Australia in May. This is Biden's third official dinner with Modi after French President Emmanuel Macron in December and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol on April 26.
Last month, the United States and India launched an initiative called Critical and Emerging Technologies to transfer advanced defense and computer technology, including the joint production of General Electric Company aircraft engines. It is assessed that the partnership between the two countries in technology is part of countering Russian influence with India. Biden expressed displeasure that India did not object Russia in the Russia-Ukraine war. The new projects are also created due to this.
