Lightning kills two in Kottayam; IMD warns Kerala

KOTTAYAM: Lighting took two lives in a shocking incident in Kottayam district. Mundakayam native Sunil(45) and his brother-in-law Shibu(43) were the deceased ones. The incident happened today evening surprisingly at a time of no rain. Both Sunil and Shibu were on the land nearby as the survey process was ongoing as part of land inheritance. The two were struck by strong lightning and death was imminent.

Meanwhile, the Indian meteorological department warned the state of heavy lightning and occasional rains till April 2. In Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Wayanad. Alappuzha and Kottayam, the IMD warned of rains that will hit the districts at a speed of 40km/ hr.
