Mass transfer in LSGD Kerala anger left-affiliated employees

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The local self-government department is moving ahead with a transfer policy applicable to all employees. Many employees who were enjoying a secure work life under the protective umbrella of union leaders have now gone irate. These employees earlier received assurance from left leaders regarding extended stay, but now will be forced to comply with the office policies.

Internal conflicts have gone strong inside the left-run municipal and corporation staff union. The union beseeched the government for no mass transfers but was snubbed which led to the employees going against the union leaders. The policy of transfer comes under the wake of newly weaved planes to shuffle workers between panchayaths, municipal common service, and local engineering offices. The transfers will be applicable to employees who have been seated in the same post for more than three years.

The government will complete the transfer policy by April 30th. Meanwhile, accusations are also handy about the government not giving enough training to employees before shifting them to posts unknown.
