THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: LDF Convenor EP Jayarajan reiterated that traveling by Vande Bharat train will not save much time. His criticism was that Vande Bharat has only half an hour of time savings compared to Jan Shatabdi and Rajdhani. The CPM leader was criticizing the speed of Vande Bharat during DYFI's Yuva Sangamam event at Shankumugham.
EP continued that if Vande Bharat train runs at a speed of 110 kmph, the track will not be there for long. He alleged that BJP was doing political fraud in the name of Vande Bharat and it would be good if Vande Bharat services run without changing the timings of other trains.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the schedule of the Vande Bharat train service, which will be flagged off at 10:30 am on Tuesday. The regular service will be from the 28th and there will be no service on Thursdays. A stop is allowed at Shornur and there will be no stops at Chengannur and Tirur stations. The train reaches Kasaragod at 8:05 hrs.
