Mpox confirmed in Kerala's Malappuram; alert in district

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Health Minister Veena George on Wednesday confirmed that a person being treated with Mpox symptoms in Malappuram tested positive for the diagnosis. The disease was confirmed in a 38-year-old man who returned from UAE.

The minister requested that those arriving from other countries should seek treatment if showing any symptoms. All such cases should be informed to the health department.

Treatment and isolation facilities are available at hospitals mentioned by the Health Department. Phone numbers of nodal officers are also provided. Apart from this, treatment facilities are provided in all medical colleges.
