SRINAGAR: Two terrorists were killed during an encounter with the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla. The encounter was in Kreeri area of Baramulla. After receiving information about the presence of terrorists here, the security forces were conducting a search and the terrorists fired. Ammunition including an AK 47 rifle and a pistol were recovered from them. The army intensified its search to find out if more terrorists are hiding in the area.
This is the second encounter in the last 24 hours as the security forces have been put on a high alert in the wake of intelligence inputs that terrorists are preparing for a major attack in next few days. The encounter started after that. It is reported that another Poonch-style terror attack is being planned to disrupt the G20 meeting and make their presence known. Following this, the central government tightened security. India will host a meeting of the G20 Tourism Working Group in Srinagar this month. India assumed the presidency of G20 on December 1, 2022.
